Our Client Qualifications

The Center for Vision Loss relies primarily on guidelines established by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Blindness and Visual Services (BBVS) and has no financial qualifications for clients. Under these guidelines, a person is eligible if he or she is documented by a physician in the past year to have one or more of the following:

  • A visual acuity of 20/70 or worse in their better eye with best correction
  • A visual field of 20 degrees or worse
  • A visual function level that is equivalent of an acuity of 20/70 or worse

Potential clients are asked to provide permission to obtain examination results from their doctors or can be provided an examination by our Low Vision Care Center optometrist.
