The Center for Vision Loss relies primarily on guidelines established by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Blindness and Visual Services (BBVS) and has no financial qualifications for clients. Under these guidelines, a person is eligible if he or she is documented by a physician in the past year to have one or more of the following:
- A visual acuity of 20/70 or worse in their better eye with best correction
- A visual field of 20 degrees or worse
- A visual function level that is equivalent of an acuity of 20/70 or worse
Potential clients are asked to provide permission to obtain examination results from their doctors or can be provided an examination by our Low Vision Care Center optometrist.
