Center for Vision Loss Announces More than $85,000 in Corporate, Foundation Gifts

The Center for Vision Loss has announced more than $85,000 in corporate and foundation gifts that it earned during the second half of the 2019 calendar year.

The gifts support agency operations and services in the Lehigh Valley – which includes Lehigh and Northampton counties – and Monroe County. They are listed alphabetically below.

  • A $1,000 grant from the Lester G. Abeloff Foundation to support the agency’s escorted transport service in Monroe County.
  • A $5,000 grant from the Air Products Foundation to support preschool vision screenings in the Lehigh Valley.
  • A $5,000 grant from the Bausch Foundation to support preschool vision screenings in the Lehigh Valley and Monroe County.
  • A $6,750 grant from the Will R. Beitel Children’s Community Foundation to support preschool vision screenings in Northampton County.
  • A $2,000 grant from The Century Fund to support preschool vision screenings in the Lehigh Valley.
  • A gift of $1,000 to the agency’s Annual Fund from the First Windish Fraternal Benefit Society.
  • A $5,000 grant from The Charles H. Hoch Foundation to support services for people with vision loss in the Lehigh Valley.
  • A $2,500 grant from the Julius and Katheryn Hommer Foundation to support the escorted transport service in Monroe County.
  • An unrestricted gift of $8,885 from the Luther J. Hottle Fund of the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation.
  • A $1,500 grant from IronPigs Charities to support the Camp I CAN! summer program for kids ages 7-13.
  • A $2,000 grant from the Charles and Figa Kline Foundation to support agency operations.
  • A $1,000 grant from the Lehigh Valley Aging in Place Coalition to support the escorted transport service in the Lehigh Valley.
  • A $2,500 grant from the Peoples Security Charitable Foundation to support the escorted transport service in the Lehigh Valley and Monroe County.
  • A $5,000 grant from the John and Margaret Post Foundation to support the escorted transport service in the Lehigh Valley and Monroe County.
  • A $3,000 grant from The Provident Bank Foundation to support the escorted transport service in the Lehigh Valley.
  • A $3,000 grant from the Ruth P. Seruga Trust to support the escorted transport service in the Lehigh Valley.
  • A $1,000 gift to the Annual Fund by the Shafer Family Charitable Foundation.
  • A $10,000 grant from the Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation to support the escorted transport service in the Lehigh Valley.
  • A $1,000 gift to the Annual Fund from Seipstown Grange #1657.
  • A $2,000 grant from the Bill Sugra Memorial Trust to support the escorted transport service in the Lehigh Valley.
  • A $12,000 grant from the Harry C. Trexler Trust to support select services for people with vision loss in Lehigh County.
  • A $6,500 grant from the Two Rivers Health & Wellness Foundation to support the escorted transport service in Northampton County.
  • A $500 grant from the Walmart Foundation to support preschool vision screenings in the Lehigh Valley.

The Center for Vision Loss operates with a fiscal year from July 1-June 30. Event sponsorships and gifts from Lions Clubs, Lions-affiliated organizations, and individuals are counted separately.
