Agency Offices Closed, Transportation Service Limited to Critical Needs

March 26, 2020

The Center for Vision Loss has closed its offices and has limited its client transportation service to critical medical appointments and grocery deliveries that have been scheduled.

The decision to close agency offices was made Wednesday after Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf expanded his stay-at-home order to Lehigh and Northampton counties through April 6 in response to the COVID-19 national emergency, said Douglas Yingling, the agency’s Executive Director.

“It is of critical importance that we meet both our obligations to our clients with respect to their health and wellbeing and our duty to protect the wellness of our employees,” Yingling said. “We hope that, under these unprecedented circumstances, this arrangement will enable us to meet our principal responsibilities.”
